The tour travels through low-lying polders -reclaimed lakes and marshlands- bordered by dikes and waterways, established since medieval times, overlooking the peaty grasslands and beautiful extensive bulb fields, with daffodils, hyacinths and tulips in bloom in many colours.

A Dutch lunch will be served halfway through the tour in the traditional, artisanal beer brewery Klein Duimpje, located in the centre of the Bollenstreek area.

After lunch, we will continue via the “Leidse Trekvaart”, and row northbound to the historic city of Haarlem. Rowing through the canals of Haarlem, one reaches the Spaarne River, and then we turn south to arrive back at the Spaarne-clubhouse. Total length of the tour is approximately 29 km.
